Today was our last sea day aboard the Oasis of the Seas, and it was a day filled with emotion, celebration, and a little bit of sparkle—just the way it should be when you’re cruising into the final stretch of an unforgettable trip.
We started the day in style, wearing matching T-shirts to celebrate Candi’s birthday. It was a fun way to show the world we were celebrating someone special.

One of the most powerful moments came at midday when the captain and crew held a heartfelt tribute to the military. Each branch of service was honored, and the performance of the Star-Spangled Banner filled the ship with pride. As a former Army soldier, I felt every note deep in my soul—but it was the playing of Taps that truly brought a lump to my throat. It was a beautiful and emotional moment of remembrance and respect.

Afterward, we shifted gears and spent a peaceful afternoon unwinding in the Solarium, sipping drinks, and soaking in the serenity of the open sea. It was the kind of relaxation that makes you want to hit the “pause” button on life.

Tonight was the second formal night, and Candi stole the show. She stepped out in sparkly pants and a sash that read “60 and Fabulous”—and let me tell you, she absolutely lived up to it. The birthday glow, the confidence, the joy was all there.

Dinner was another round of steak—tender and tasty—but I found myself wishing for a little more variety on the menu. Still, the festive energy around us is more than made up for it. It is hard to complain when you’re surrounded by love and laughter.

We wrapped up the night with the always hilarious Love and Marriage Show, which had everyone in stitches. After a fun show and a relaxing nightcap, we called it a night, full of memories and gratitude.
This sea day was more than just another chapter in our cruise—it was a celebration of love, life, and service. Happy 60th, Candi. You truly are fabulous.
