Here are five free things your cabin steward may be able to provide during your next cruise.

1. Better Bedding

If your mattress feels a little too firm or you’d like a more comfortable night’s sleep, ask your cabin steward if mattress toppers are available. Many cruise lines also offer extra pillows or different pillow types upon request.

A simple request can make a big difference, especially on a week-long cruise.

2. A Cabin Fan

If your stateroom feels a little warm or stuffy, some cruise ships have small fans that guests can borrow.

These are usually available in limited quantities, so it’s a good idea to ask as soon as you board. While not every ship offers them, it never hurts to check.

3. Coffee or Tea Setup

Depending on the cruise line, you may be able to request a kettle, coffee maker, or additional coffee and tea supplies for your cabin.
